Oh no no.

No.

This is so not entertaining.

I think it's really disturbing that I might be wearing my sister, but I can still heft a battle axe around.

I guess it would be even more disturbing if the flood washed my slayer abilities away again though.  Thank heaven, small favors.

But, no really, when is this over with?

Lurking as in stowing away?

Yes. I was in one of the lower floors on the ship when it set upon me.

So what kind of monster is it? Horns, tusks, fangs, hallucinogenic tail barbs?

It is of great size. It it currently disguised as a man, but cannot be slain by bullets.

Don't suppose you've got any clues on how it can be slain?

I have attempted to do so for many months, with so little success. It does not fear the cold, nor the blades of men.

So swords and axes are out. Something a little more mystical?

A mixture of the mystical and the scientific. It was constructed from the dead bodies of many dead men, although it appears as one now.

[Oh great, Adam 2.0]

Huh. No kidding. I might actually have been there, done that.

You have killed one of these creatures in the past? But how was it created?

Not sure. Just got to see the finished product. A lot of his power came from an energy source wired into him, though. Does this thing have something like that?

Yes, the new art of electricity was involved in its creation.

It concerns me how much you know of these methods. Have you engaged with them yourself?

Not in the whole creating process, nope, but definitely in the taking-out-against-impossible-odds part.

That is an excellent skill to hold.

It can be. But I'm not so sure I can stage a second night's showing of the whole showdown as it went last time. It took some special magic.

What is this magic of which you speak? A new science, perhaps?

No, I'm pretty sure it's as different from both new and science as you can get.

The old philosophers work is perhaps not entirely without merit. This pleases me.

Er, yep. Plenty of merit to go around.

It pleases me that others are finally recognising their good work.

Yeah, I'm sure they're smiling in their graves somewhere.

I'll get on tracking this monster for you.

I thank you. Hopefully it will be found with great speed.
